Kronstadt, a fortified island in Finnish Bay, was a heartpiece of the Russian Navy for centuries. The Cathedral is richly decorated with motiffs of sea creatures, anchors and etc.; it never belonged to the Church, but to the Navy. After the 1917 revolution it was converted into Red Navy's club; recently was re-sanctified and is now under restoration.
