In the center of Lakki village, a striking monument stabs skyward from a cantilevered deck with stunning views of the valley below. It says there was a prison camp during WWII and this is Resistance Memorial..

The village of Lakki on the way up to Samaria Gorge is beautiful to look at. The scenery is perfect here. This is the place you would want to stop at and make some pictures. You get to Lakki by following the main road south from Chania in the direction of Omalos. Omalos is a small settlement close (4 km or so) to Samaria National Park..
